About This Magazine

This magazine has its origins as the blog and experiment of Rahvalor Interactive, a creative services and marketing company in Holmdel, New Jersey. Let’s start a business blog about web and creative marketing and see what happens! In the beginning, Carol Lynn Rivera, project manager at Rahvalor and novelist-in-training took responsibility for planning, writing and publishing the blog. It went pretty well for a while, but one person, a full time job and Ralph Rivera on the sidelines always wondering when he was going to get a sandwich made the job tough.

But the blog got such great feedback from friends, colleagues, customers and random Twitter followers that we knew we had to make it work. People were enjoying what we wrote and learning from it. So we added several full-time authors and talented guest bloggers to share their marketing insights and inspirations. As our audience and content collection grew, and as we continued to get positive feedback from everyone from perfect strangers to our own mothers (the latter being a pretty huge accomplishment), we knew it was time to leave the commonplace world of business blogging and tackle something more exciting.

So we put our heads together to answer this question: How can we get more great content to more people more of the time? And the Web.Search.Social magazine was born.

Web.Search.Social is all about… you guessed it… web, search and social marketing, including everything from branding to video to reaching customers on Facebook. Plus we throw in a bit of print and offline advertising because all good marketing programs are well-rounded and everyone needs to be reminded that business cards still matter once in a while.

The Web.Search.Social Attitude

This magazine is an extension of our commitment to providing the best information we can, based on sound principles and more than twelve years of experience with creative marketing so that you can make smart decisions and investments in the growth and success of your business.

We like to think, and we want to inspire you to think, too – about your business, about how you can use the web to reach more customers, and about the myths, misconceptions and shortcuts that can derail even the most well-intentioned marketing plan.

We like to debate, and we want your feedback to nudge the discussion along and add new perspectives and dimensions to the conversation. Most of the time it’s not a matter of right and wrong when it comes to marketing, but of what works and what doesn’t for your business, goals or industry.

We like to teach, and we hope to teach you something you might not have known or thought to ask about marketing on the web. It’s not good enough to throw your website out there into the world and wish it good luck. Marketing and making the web work for your business takes time, analysis and the ability to adapt as technology and people change.

So this magazine is a place where we can inspire, discuss, teach and also learn as we see what concerns and interests you on your marketing journey. Join us – leave a comment, ask a question, stir the pot a little bit. We look forward to new challenges and new relationships and hope that this magazine is a source of inspiration and information for you.
